Dear Faubion Community,

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year! My name is Karmin Williams (Miss Williams), and I am honored to be able to join the Faubion community, and work with the fabulous families and children who will soon fill the hallways and classrooms. Once again, this year will be filled with exciting programing and staff additions, and I believe this year will be even more rewarding and fun as we move forward in this adventure together.

While this will be my first year as an Assistant Principal, it is my 14th year in education. My background encompasses 13 years as a science and mathematics teacher, 12 years as a head distance running coach, 11 years as director of an alternative school, and four years as a doctoral student focusing on social justice and equity. Throughout these experiences I’ve found advocacy, equity, and community as essential features to a quality, enriching education.

When not in the school building, you may find me running through the streets and parks in Portland. I also enjoy traveling.  I have lived in Oregon all of my life, and attended Oregon State University, as well as studied in England.

I am so lucky to be able to work with the Faubion community- families, children and educators. I look forward to meeting all of you very soon and creating a relationship focused on doing what is best for your child.
