The 狂热的 program began in PPS in 2004 at McDaniel (formerly Madison) High School, which was also the first 狂热的 school in the state of Oregon, becoming certified in 2005.
简单的, 狂热的 trains educators to use proven practices in order to prepare students for success in high school, 大学, 还有事业, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education.

- What Students Need - 狂热的 students receive intentional support and mentoring in three major areas that help them become confident individuals who can successfully navigate life and career. The areas are:
- rigorous academic preparedness
- opportunity knowledge
- student agency
- What 狂热的 Educators Do - teachers and other adults on a school campus play an important role in student success. To bring about this transformation, educators must:
- insist on rigor
- break down barriers
- align the work
狂热的 Elective Class
- 狂热的 Secondary Elective Class (grades 6-12) is an essential component of the 狂热的大学 & Career Readiness Framework and is for one period a day. Students receive additional academic, 社会, and emotional support that will help them succeed in their school’s most rigorous courses.
